DDR take 1
Who: Radagast and SO
Exercise type: DDR Hottest Party
Duration: ~2 hours
Notes: We bought Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for the Wii with an eye to incorporating it into our workout routine, and were pleasantly surprised to find the dancing to be aerobically challenging yet not exhausting (allowing us to, for example, play it for about 2 hours today). We broke a sweat after only a few songs, and definitely feel like we've worked out.
This is our first introduction to DDR, and thus we're both still clods at the game, but we anticipate having much fun while getting some exercise. We found that turning off the hand movements and the gimmicks made the game easier to play (for us beginners).
The game does have a "workout mode" that lets users set a time that they want to play for, which should be a nice feature for exercising with the game, though its attempt at calorie counting seems ridiculous (as the actual number of calories a user burns will depend on far more than their weight and the difficulty level of the song, the only two factors the game appears to take into account).
Radagast's totals: 72/225; 16/75; $- 145.00
Radagast's SO's totals: 52/225; 12/75; $35.00
